Springville FUMC Youth Groups

The Springville FUMC has groups for the youth to join and participate in a great variety of activities. Activities such as, fund raising events, organized games and outings to area attractions, music festivals, missions trips, community service, and many other fun and interesting things. The Youth Group is open to all 6
th graders to 12th graders. The youth groups allow the members a chance to get together with others and have fun and at the same time develope into young adults that are ready to serve thier church and communities. You don't have to be a member of the church to participate. Our youth ministry is growing rapidly and it is an exciting time, so come to a meeting or an activity and bring a friend, all are welcomed, but be ready to have a good time and meet great people.

"Impact" exists to reach teenagers without faith in our community and connect ourselves with other believers while mentoring all to exalt and live for God.

A New Year For Student Ministries

The theme for the next year in Student ministries is "The Harvest". Times of harvest are sometimes the most painful times in our lives, these are the times when we have grown up tall and the fruit we have worked so hard to produce is now ripe, and it is time to give it up and give it out! "The Harvest" year of 2011-2012 will be heavily mission and outreach focused, while continuing to encourage the growth or "emergence" concepts from the year before. Many of our students 2 years ago gave their lives to Christ, and then this year after much growth, emerged into confirmed United Methodists! These students have made their commitment and now it is time for the fruits of their labor to be harvested to feed the many who are starving for even the scraps of what is on their table! I encourage the friends, families, and church communities of our students to be praying this year as we enter this season of "The Harvest".

Youth Sunday School Classes

Two Youth Sunday School classes meet each Sunday at 9:45 AM, and guests or new members are always welcome.

Brian and Donna Benstead teach the High School class which starts out in the Cave. In September 2012, the class will use "Still More High School Talksheets" by David Rogers, Biblibally based creative discussions for youth incorporating some role plays and case studies too.

Middle School Sunday School is led by Cathie Phelps and Dominick Drumsta, meeting in room 1G after assembling in the Yellow Room on the main floor. The LIVE! curriculum from Simply Youth, a division of Group, is 40% Old Testament, and 60% New Testament so that 6th, 7th, and 8th graders get the Big Picture of God's love for them.

Classes Resume September 18th.
