Springville First United Methodist Church is a member of
Love InC of Greater Springville.

LOVE inC (Love, In the name of Christ) is a clearinghouse with the mission: "To Spread Christ's Love by Helping Churches Help People"  Coordinating efforts, being organized, meeting needs without duplicating services, and not allowing one church to become overburdened working alone is the best way to respond to human needs.  God provides for His people by mobilizing His Church and by working with many helping agencies through the ministry of Love InC. 

Some of the efforts coordinated through Love InC include:

Providing drivers to transport patients to medical appointments
Referrals to the food pantry
Financial counseling
Cleaning supplies packages including dishtowels, household cleaning items, oven mitts, a mop and a bucket
Matching furniture donations and needs
Referrals to social services agencies

IMAGE Classes For 2008

There will be an IMAGE information and training session for anyone interested in volunteering for the IMAGE program on December 13th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Yellow Room.

Beginning on Thursday, January 10th and running on every Thursday night until March 27th, 2008, IMAGE classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30pm at The Springville First United Methodist Church.  In the event of inclement weather, the rule of thumb is....if the Springville School District is closed then IMAGE will be cancelled that night and any class that is missed in this session can be made up in the next session beginning in April.

IMAGE is a 12 week program that will be teaching on the following topics:

January 10:  Lesson 1:  Know Who You Are--Seeing Your Uniqueness.
January 17:  Lesson 2:  Know How To Begin--Seeing Alternatives.
January 24:  Lesson 3:  Know Where You Are Going--Understanding Your Value.
January 31:  Lesson 4:  Know How to Complete the Task--Conquering Fear.
February 7:  Lesson 5:  Know The Importance of Your Task--Seeing the Value in What You Do.
February 14:  Lesson 6:  Know How to Endure--Overcoming Worry.
February 21:  Lesson 7:  Know How to Make it Wonderful--Visualizing the Future.
February 28:  Lesson 8:  Know What is at Stake--Considering the Costs.
March 6:  Lesson 9:  Know Who You Need--Involving Other People.
March 13:  Lesson 10:  Know the Plan--Setting Specific Goals.
March 20:  Lesson 11:  Know What You Need--Creating a Supportive Physical Environment.
March 27:  Lesson 12:  Know How You Feel--Paying Attention to Your Emotions.

IMAGE Volunteers are needed in Teaching, Mentoring, Childcare and Hosting.
