Altogether Different: Space For Yes

April 14, 2024

Scripture: Romans 8:31-39

The longer that we have known Christ in our lives, the more difficult it can be to recognize just how radical God’s yes is to us. We start a new series today called Altogether Different. During this time we will explore Jesus’s plan for his church in the world and how we are each invited to be part of it. Romans 8:31-39 will help us to recognize the space God has invited us into with his yes. This encourages us to think more broadly about how Jesus is working through his church to extend God’s Yes to others.

How Are We Living For Jesus?

April 7, 2024

Scripture: John 20:19-31

We celebrated Christ’s resurrection last Sunday, but as we see from the Gospels, the empty grave is so important that it takes time for the disciples to get their hearts and minds around what it means. We are blessed to have Pastor Dee Finch and some of her people from Seneca Street UMC join us in worship today. Pastor Dee will help us to reflect on John 20:19-31, as we open our hearts to the risen Christ.

True Power: Cannot Be Stopped

March 31, 2024

Scripture: Mark 16:1-8

Once again, we are here to celebrate the glory of the resurrection of Jesus the Christ! And we see the honesty in the accounts of that first Easter in Mark 16:1-8. The message is clear: Jesus isn’t in the tomb, he has risen! Yet, his followers react with confusion, fear, sadness, and doubt. The Good News is that these honest responses do nothing to stop the true power of Jesus. He is risen no matter what. This is good news for all of us, no matter where we find ourselves in life Jesus power cannot be stopped.

True Power: Love That Absorbs

March 24, 2024

Scripture: Luke 22:31-46

The death of Jesus on the cross is a universe transforming event. Jesus stated that at the heart of discipleship is death to self. When we consider the true power of Jesus, the power of what he does in his death on the cross is so important. On the cross, the power of love absorbs all the brokenness in the world and makes a way for us to walk forward in new life. Today we consider what Good Friday has to do with this journey and our day to day faith.
