Visitors and Newcomers
When you visit Springville First United Methodist Church, you will not be asked to stand up or identify yourself! The people sitting around you will smile and say hello, but unless you tell them you are a visitor, probably they will assume that you usually attend the other service! Some people are going to be embarrassed that they don’t remember your name when they feel they should know it. We have lots of visitors, and new people constantly are assimilated into our church groups. Remember that the person sitting ahead of you or behind you may be almost as new as you are, so introduce yourselves!
Several times a year, the pastor holds a series of informational meetings about the church and its ministries. If you want to be baptized, join the church, get on the mailing list, or have any sort of questions, just call the church office at (716) 592-7451 and leave a message if the secretary isn’t there. You can also email email@example.com
The best way to get to know other people in the church is to join a small group or activity. When clipboards are passed around asking for volunteers for one thing or another, sign up! When an activity is advertised, go to it!
What are the services like?
At Springville First United Methodist Church, the 8:30am and 11:00am worship services have different formats, and we encourage you to try both to see where you can best worship God and grow in your faith. In our 8:30am contemporary service, our praise band leads us in songs from many well-known Christian worship bands and singers. Our 11:00am traditional service is piano and organ led, and focuses more on hymns. It is more liturgical in design, which means it is set up to help guide individuals’ hearts into worship. The same message is taught at both services.
What about my kids?
Our nursery is available for your use at both of our services. Simply ask an usher and they will direct you to it. We have Sunday School classes for children and adults in between services. The programs run from 9:50-10:50. You can see more information about children’s classes here and adult classes here.
