We may be tempted to think that our story starts on the day we were born. But even from a genealogical perspective, our stories go back as far as human history. We are each part of ancient stories of love, romance, and commitment, as well as tragedy, hurt and disappointment. Even bigger than the human stories we are a part of, we are also living into God’s story. The story of Jesus, his love for people and his work to come to earth, where he lived and died for us. God the Father is working to redeem the world through his love, we are just as much a part of that story as Jesus is. As we worship today let us be reminded of how deeply the story of Jesus is ours. Matthew 11:25-30 will help us come to Christ today.
