Pursuing God: Mistakes That Refine Instead Of Define

March 15, 2026

Scripture: John 18:15-18, 25-27

Peter had promised Jesus that he would follow him unto death.  When the heat gets turned up, Peter denies him three times. Unfortunately our mistakes get a deep hold on us and end up defining us for seasons of our life.  Jesus’ interaction with Peter shows us that God can use our mistakes to refine us into something new.  As we continue this Lent with our Pursuing God series, John 18:15-18, 25-27 will help us focus our hearts in worship.

Pursuing God: When Worship Costs More

March 8, 2026

Scripture: John 12:1-11

In busy lives it becomes too easy to push Jesus to the side of our lives. Even to regularly make space for worship and prayer, are these the center of what feeds us, or are they on the fringe, pushed aside for other priorities. When we encounter Jesus there is a pull in our hearts to make more and more room to let the Holy Spirit work in our lives. This reordering and changing of priorities is one of the practical ways that we lay down our lives and pick up the cross in our daily lives. This morning John 12:1-11 will guide us in worship as we consider when worship costs us more than expected.

Pursuing God: Recognizing The Blind Spots

March 1, 2026

Scripture: John 9:1-12

Everyone has areas in their lives that leave blind spots. Jesus was a master at calling those around him to recognize theirs and offering invitations to move forward with a better connection to reality. As we worship this morning, continuing in our series Pursuing God, John 9:1-12 will help us worship and be transformed by the Holy Spirit. May God work in each of us as we consider how we are called in Recognizing the Blind.

Pursuing God: When God Sees Through You

February 22, 2026

Scripture: John 4:7-26

One of the very compelling things that we see in John’s gospel is how Jesus saw people and knew where they were coming from deep down. This was unnerving for those who pretended to be religious, but had other motivations in their hearts. For us it can be both comforting and unsettling to really come to grips with the ways that Jesus knows us even better than we know ourselves. John 4:7-26 will help guide our hearts in worship today as we consider When God Sees Through You.
