To gather at the Table of Christ for communion is one of the most nourishing things we can do in our lives as Christians. Methodists understand the act of Communion as a sacrament. This means that in addition to the meaning and importance that comes in participating from the human side of things God is doing the most important work as we participate. This means that the LORD is providing us with gifts of grace that only God can give and is not available in any other situation. This morning we consider the significance that a Table has been prepared for us as we prepare our hearts to gather for Communion. 1 John 1:2-10 will guide us on this journey.
