We live at a time when the spirit of division is a prominent and powerful force. It is not overstating it to see this as a spiritual condition. Unfortunately, Christians participate in the exercise of division, and too often passionately so. How to walk amidst disagreements has been an issue for the Church since her birth. The New Testament is honest about such things and gives us a clear understanding of God’s heart on the matter. His children are to do the hard work of living in peace and love with each other. As we worship today, Philippians 2:1-11 will call us to see the importance of humility as it relates to walking with each other.
