Each aspect of the Fruit of the Spirit reveals something to us about who God is and what Jesus’ heart for us is. The fact that joy is talked about so much in scripture tells us about God’s joyousness, and how the Father invites us to interact with the world. Life can be difficult, the problems of our lives and the brokenness of the world are very serious. Yet, we should be encouraged that scripture calls us to joy in ways that account for the hardships we encounter. The Bible does not promise we will be excused from weeping, but that joy will find us as that season ends.
