As we approach worship this Sunday and prepare to come to the Lord’s table, we are invited to pause and consider the distance—measured not in steps, but in attentiveness—between our hearts and Jesus. Are we drawing near in trust, or lingering at the edges in distraction, pride, or weariness? Communion is not a reward for closeness nor a barrier for distance; it is the gracious invitation of a loving Father who calls us to come just as we are. As we prepare for worship, may we open our hearts honestly and receive again the mercy, grace, and joy offered at the table.
