Today is Trinity Sunday. This is always the Sunday following Pentecost on the Church liturgical calendar. This is a unique day on the Church calendar because it doesn’t celebrate a particular biblical event, but instead a core doctrine of the Christian faith. The doctrine of the church does it’s best to help us understand, but as to how God can be three and still one will never be something that we can fully understand. Yet Jesus in his ministry wants us to know about the work and persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Church has had great debate in growing to understand this important aspect of who God is. So today we worship with the help of Matthew 28:16-20, to sit with the mystery, as we lift our hearts to our Triune God.
