Advent gives us context for living in the darkness of this world as followers of Jesus. It reminds us that we are awaiting Jesus’ return. While we don’t know exactly when that will occur we can live hope filled lives knowing there is a universe transformed by the power of resurrection on the way. But more than passively waiting, the work of the Holy Spirit is to empower us to bring the realities of Christ’s Kingdom into the dark world more and more. Matthew 3:1-12 will help guide our hearts as we reflect on how All Earth is Waiting and come to Jesus’ Table today.
